Welcome to Norfolk
Don’t be a sheep, get off the beaten track! |
Escape to the beautiful and diverse county of
Norfolk, just a couple of hours from London and the Midlands.
If you like the outdoors then Norfolk can
offer everything (Ok so we don’t have mountains!). The
cyclists and walkers will soon find that it isn’t as flat as
everyone says. The driest county in the UK! Get lost in
our country lanes and amongst the castles, follies, stately homes
and churches. Or enjoy the hundreds of miles of beautiful
sandy beaches and salt marshes.
Norfolk is famous for its pubs, most
villages have a drinking establishment and Norwich is reputed to
have 365, one for each day of the year. If you like real ale
then you'll love the micro breweries spread throughout the county.
You won't be short of places to eat either, from fish and chips by
the sea to gastronomic pubs and great restaurants. Don't miss
out on the seafood.
There are superb train and national coach services
into the county. Then it's a short bus journey or walk to
hostels, campsites and other accommodation around the county.
To get around you can hire bikes, walk, horse ride or take a tour.
Campervans are a superb way to visit.
The Independent Travellers Norfolk website
is being redeveloped, so come back soon for more information. |
